Your Embarrassment Barometer

1. You are having a party at home and your mom brings out an embarrassing, completely nude baby photo of yours and shows it your friends. How do you react?

âMom! How could you do that??â Then stamp your foot with an utterly crossed face and storm out of the room.
âOh, just have a look, I am looking sooo.. cute! I must have proudly flaunted those apple cheeks!!â
âThat canât be me! Itâs Mary, my younger sister. Canât you distinguish between your own children mom?â

2. Your dad insists on doing a moonwalk to entertain your friends, but he totally screws it up! What would be your reaction?

You are almost paralyzed, with your face twitching in embarrassment. Hopelessly wish he had not insisted on doing something he was incapable of and not make a fool of himself.
You exclaim in a joyous tone âOh Dad! so sweet of you to do that for us! You are simply great.â Then just give him a big hug.
You say, âDonât worry, Dad. I guess a little more practice is required. But it was really nice of you to make an effort. Come on guys, letâs go and enjoy some snacks.â

3. At the party your mom describes to your friends, how you would cry out loud and fill tanks with your tears, every morning before going to school, at the age of four; all your neighbors would have to stuff their fingers in their ears! How do you react to this?

You feel simply disgusted with your mom and cry out in protestâDidnât you get a better place to spill the beans? How could you be so mean to me?â
You say in a jovial tone, âOh Mom that was my own way to become popular amongst the neighbors! Donât you remember all the neighborhood children used to follow suit?â and just laugh it off.
You politely put forward your opinion âI guess at that age majority of the children hate going to school.â

4. You are scheduled for your first date with the coolest dude/loll in college; but just when you are about to leave home, your mom appears from nowhere and insists that you put on a shabby old windcheater before she allows you out. What do you do?

Scream at your mom, âItâs horrendous, why you always have to do this! I simply hate youâ and just breeze out of the room, leaving her astonished.
Make a big deal about putting on the windcheater, parade it around and strike poses like Britney Spears!
You courteously say âThanks Mom for caring so much, but I wonât really need it. I am already wearing my parka, which also has a hood. Trust me, Iâll be fine.â

5. Youâre addressing an informal friendâs get-together, where everyoneâs gathered to discuss a new project assigned at school/work accidentally, you happen to drop your file and bend to collect it, when to your complete surprise you hear yourself fart aloud. (Thereâs no polite way of saying sorry!)Itâs the most embarrassing thing you have ever done. How do you react?

You just wish you could whistle to some invisible dinosaur that would come and frisk you away. You scurry out; hurriedly climb the staircase up to your room, lock your door and throwing yourself on the bed, bury your head beneath the pillows, where you intend to hide for the rest of your life!
One by one, all your friends start laughing. You join the gang, almost laughing your head off, shrieking hysterically, and tears pouring from your eyes.
You say calmly, âOops! Sorry.â You then continue with your speech and move on as if nothing happened.
